About Information
Categories
Each POI is designated by type (Italian restaurant, dental clinic, synagogue, etc.). Category codes are based on the U.S. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC). Each POI is described by at least one category, but one POI may also be described by several categories. Classification of POIs under a standard codes promotes efficient search of the relevant information, thus reducing the cost of integrating the POI database into customers’ data systems and applications.
POI Location and navigation to a POI
In some cases additional information is provided that describes POI’s navigation point. It can happen when for some reason there is a need for explicitly mention road segment that access POI. Navigation point mentioned is defined by the node id of appropriate road segment that have to be used to access the POI. Navigation point information includes x,y coordinates and reference to the road segment (by segment id) and junctions layer (by junction node id). Navigation point coordinates are usually different from POI centroid coordinates.
For every POI, composed of several buildings a single calculated central point is assigned. When necessary, the location of entrances (navigation points) to the POI is also noted. Any POI can have several entrances, which can be varied by type (entrance for vehicle, pedestrian entrance, …).

Additional tables stores information on classifications, attributes (such as name, address, and telephone no.), entrance coordinates (if exists), links to enclosed areas (universities, airports, etc.). Obligatory attribute data appears in two languages: Hebrew and English For example:
